The Keyboard Warrior: Irfan Hafiz
Nobody can defeat you if you are capable enough to face your problems. Today I am going to talk about an undefeatable person, the most courageous person in the entire world, a person who can give you some courage and can change the meaning of disability for you. Yes, I am talking about the undefeatable man Irfan, who is from a small country in Sri Lanka. This man will change your mind because he is a real warrior.

When he was 18 his entire muscle system collapsed and he could no longer move. The only thing he could move was his finger. And since then for 19 years, he has been bedridden in his home Sri Lanka. But this is not a sad story, this story is inspiring. Despite having strength only in one finger he taught himself to read and write English. He became unstoppable and started to learn to type in English with literally only one moving finger.

Many times he got frustrated due to his disease but never lost his confidence and courage in himself. He started reading books online and hence decided to write books with only one finger. This was not an easy task, to write a book from lying in his bed and typing with only one finger. But he took the challenge and soon he wrote three books — SILENT STRUGGLE, MOMENTS OF MERRIMENT, and SILENT THOUGHTS. One of his books took almost one year to complete. He was known as “The Keyboard Warrior”.

He became popular when his books became best sellers. He started making friends and gained a lot of fame and love. This guy fought to live his life, fought to express his thoughts, and fought to make his voice heard, only through a keyboard. He became the new definition of disability.

But sadly when the entire world was waiting for his fourth book, the world received the distressing news of the sad demise of IRFAN HAFIZ, a differently-abled “KEYBOARD WARRIOR”.Irfan lost his long battle with the disease and passed away very peacefully at the age of 37. He was about to ship his books to various countries but death caught up to him. Death comes when you least think about it. He taught us the real meaning of life, he taught us to live every moment of our lives to its fullest. He may not be present in our world but will always inspire more and more people every day…
